The Story of
Maiti Nepal
Fighting human trafficking and empowering women and children since 1993.

Anuradha Koirala
Maiti Nepal was founded in 1993 by Anuradha Koirala, a former teacher who dedicated her life to ending human trafficking and sexual exploitation of Nepalese women and children.
Over three decades, Maiti Nepal has grown to operate three prevention homes, eleven transit homes, two hospices, and a formal school. More than 1,000 children receive direct services every day, and over 36,000 women and children have been rescued.
"We dream of a society where no woman or child is sold, no one is exploited, and everyone lives with dignity."
— Anuradha Koirala, Founder
